The TB-303 was originally intended to be an accompaniment for solo guitarists in the early 80s, but didn't fulfil its true potential until some time after it was released. As well as being used in electro tracks, it unintentionally spawned a sound that was synonymous with a whole musical genre in the late 80s – Acid House.
